I recently took part in the International Wildlife Film Festival Filmmaker LABS. Over the course of a week, I worked on a small team to produce a short film about wildlife-livestock conflict in ranching communities in Montana. This incredible experience has inspired me to incorporate visual medial into my research and outreach projects.

Since 2012, I have been making annual trips to Lowell Elementary to teach 5th graders about dispersal and how we can use DNA to ask questions about trait evolution. Then we extract DNA from strawberries--the students' favorite part!
I also regularly volunteer at SpectrUM Discovery Area, a hands-on science discovery center for kids of all ages and backgrounds to promote higher education and careers in STEM fields.
